I have been practicing acupuncture (and enjoying it immensely!) since 2006. I came to acupuncture after my own experience with chronic pain following an accident in 1999. After more than two years of various treatments to address back pain from multiple herniated discs, I was advised to find a surgeon because that was my "only option". Luckily, my father saw things differently and made an appointment for me to see an acupuncturist he knew in my hometown of Rochester, New York. After months of intensive work with a local acupuncturist in New York City, I finally found relief from my pain. That was in 2002, and I have been pain-free ever since... and that includes two pregnancies!
My personal experience with acupuncture was so profound and so interesting that I decided to go to acupuncture school myself. Before starting acupuncture school at Touro College in Manhattan, I attended Vassar College, and then worked at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, researching medications for anxiety and depression. This was a fascinating experience and really shaped my acupuncture practice because it helped me see the importance of treating people as individuals, without relying on protocols to address problems. I truly love what I do and want everyone to have the wonderful experience I had with acupuncture.
In my free time, I love to read, create art, go for long aimless walks with friends, foster cats for the local animal shelter, hang out with my family, cook, and eat!
